About Donations
This is a bit of an experiment. I'm going to try this out for a few months and see what happens. I believe there's an upside for me as well as for the visitors to this site. The visitors get to download any mp3s they want for free without any obligation, and if they like what they're listening to, they can always donate. I'm gambling that enough people will like what they're listening to and will donate, that I'll be able to keep these mp3s free along with all future mp3s. Of course, if I'm wrong, then I'll go back to charging for them.
How much should someone donate? Donations should be what you consider a reasonable amount based on the benefit you believe you've received from the product(s) you've downloaded (before going free, I charged $17.95 per download). I don't expect anyone to donate more than once--though I won't begrudge anyone who chooses otherwise. Just a $10 donation would go a long ways toward keeping these mp3s and future mp3s free.
While I'm obviously hoping to benefit financially from this experiment, the most exciting benefit for me is that a lot of people will be listening to my mp3s and will hopefully be benefiting from them.
And last but not least, because this is a for-profit enterprise, donations are not tax deductible.
