What is Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic tool. Hypnotherapy deals with problems at the subconscious level when a client is unable to solve a problem at the conscious level. Hypnotherapy can be used to treat addictions; overcome phobias; relieve stress; and help clients achieve positive attitudes about themselves.
A hypnotherapist can use a variety of therapeutic techniques in conjunction with hypnosis in order to help a client overcome whatever issue they may have. Besides the use of suggestion as a general therapeutic tool (for issues like behavior modification), hypnotists and hypnotherapists can combine therapy methods like inner child work, regression therapy, gestalt, and other methodologies to assist clients.
Regression therapy can be especially effective to take a client back to a time when an issue first arose. Since hypnosis creates a bridge to access the subconscious and the material held within it (such as memories), it's a perfect tool to use to discover core issues. Discovering core issues can be an important step in helping a client overcome issues they're confronting.
